- My Secret pal from the Marching Panda's received a her referral!! I am so happy for Kristine and Shawn and their beautiful daughter!
- We had a very nice lunch with Hulu Mama on Sunday. We met at a Chinese restaurant and had yummy dim sum for lunch. The restaurant was full of Chinese families celebrating Chinese New Year.
- Hulu Mama needs to blog about her world travels. Lets just say if you need some tips on scuba diving in Bali or places to go in Beijing she's your girl!
- Sophie's class has celebrated Chinese New Year all week:) I heard a little girl leaving with her Dad and wishing him "Happy Chinese New Year Daddy..." Made me happy.
- I can't wait to get to Florida...nuff said.
- I admire special ed teachers who are called to teach children with behavior and emotional disorders.
- I lowered our cable bill by $35 bucks per month....by just asking for a lower rate:)
- My new fav radio station on my XM radio plays "the first wave" which is new wave music from the 80's, New Order, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Cure, Morrisey etc. LOVE IT!
- RQ has posted a ton of adult adoptee blogs for the masses to read. Lots of good insight to the individual experiences of trans-racial adoptee's. But could someone please leave me a link to a well adjusted transracial adoptee who has a good self image and happy with their family!

Your so sweet Mare...Thank you :o)
Can I give you my cable co.'s #??
I've been reading those RQ posts too... Thank god someone agrees with me... I was thinking the same thing, where are the thousands of well adjusted kids? If I didn't know better... I would start to feel like I was invested in something that should be deemed horrible. But I know better... as do you!!
Have a great weekend
Certainly enjoyed lunch with you all too! We'll have to get together again soon!
Now I'm going to have to call my cable co and see if they'll help me out.
If it stays cold I may hide myself in your luggage and go to Florida too! Hope you all have a great time!
I laughed when I read your comment about RQ - I know the reality is that these kids will have more questions and such than most, but you are right! What about highlighting the ones that have had positive experiences and are leading normal, productive, intentional lives now.
The only thing I can think to point to is that a relationship with Jesus Christ can and does take the most horrible of hurts and heal and bind up the wounds. It gives a foundation and a Rock to cling to. Doesn't eliminate the existence of the experiences or the pain. Nor does it eliminate the need to have help working through the "baggage." But it does give a hope that I'm not reading in many of the writings recommended.
Maybe those adoptees who have a deep faith in Him should start speaking out!
Lame blogger... yeah that would be ME ! :0)
I too lowered our cable bill not to long ago because I called saying I was going to cancel. I'd been with them for a long time but when I lost my job, just figured I could do without some things. They immediately offered me the rate they were giving new customers which was WAY lower than I was paying at the time , and... they gave it to me without the two year contract. Go Figure. I should have done that a lot sooner!
I hope you gals have a "calgon take me away" time in Florida. I know it'll be some great fun and relaxation for all of you!
A gal after my own heart where XM and music groups are concerned. Early in my high school career I lusted after Robert Smith of the Cure. Had to do with that weird, dark, mysterious look about him. I also spend a lot of time on Margaritaville.
